Dr. Ali Saman Hasan Attends the Launch of the Saudi Embassy’s Iftar Program in Jakarta
Depok (March 2, 2026) — The Advisor of Al Wafi Islamic Boarding School in Depok, Dr. Ali Saman Hasan, Lc., M.A., attended the launch of the Iftar Gathering Program and the distribution of dates as a gift from King Salman, organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jakarta on Friday (February 20, 2026).
The event was led by the Head of the Religious Attaché Office of the Saudi Embassy, Ahmed bin Essa Al-Hazmi, who in his sermon prayed for the well-being of Indonesian Muslims. He expressed hope that all acts of fasting would be accepted by Allah, that all sins would be forgiven, and that every good deed—including the organization of communal iftar gatherings—would receive blessings.
On that occasion, Dr. Ali Saman Hasan conveyed his appreciation for the initiative of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which consistently presents religious programs that strengthen Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyah). According to him, the event is not merely a ceremonial iftar gathering but also a meaningful moment to reinforce solidarity and cooperation among Muslims across nations.
Ali Saman also stated that on the same day, another iftar gathering would be held at the University of Indonesia (UI) Mosque in Depok, together with the Rector of the University of Indonesia and members of the university leadership, as part of the Ramadan program series organized by the Saudi Embassy.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amudi, explained that the program is a direct initiative from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, with its implementation coordinated by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.
In addition to Jakarta, similar events will also be held in several cities such as Surabaya, Padang, Bogor, Kendari, and Makassar, as well as at several universities, including the University of Indonesia and Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta.
This program is part of the Ramadan gift initiative from King Salman and the Crown Prince to Muslims around the world, including Indonesia, as a manifestation of care and a commitment to strengthening the bonds of the global Muslim community.
